Care of Polymer Jewelry

Care and cleaning of polymer clay jewelry:

When not being worn, please store your jewlery in a  cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.  Avoid getting aerosol sprays, perfumes, or chlorinated water onto the items, as they may discolor the finish.  If your pieces are accompanied by metal components, they may tarnish over time.  Special care must be taken when cleaning those items.

Please do not immerse your polymer items in liquid jewelry cleaners, as the chemicals in those may adversely affect the clay.  A dry sheet of jewelry cleaner can be used to remove tarnish from the metal components.  Zipper jewelry bags are recommended to store your jewelry when not being worn, to prevent the tarnish from progressing.  Tarnish progresses especially quickly in humidity.

If your items are not tarnished, a damp washcloth is best for cleaning polymer clay pieces.  You may use soap and water if needed.  Buffing your polymer jewelry on a lint-free cloth will restore the shine.
